Smith Farmhouse is a true gem! This historic property was once home to Franklin Gowdy, one of the founders of Union Pier. The spacious outdoor area has plenty of room for large groups to spread out. The large heated pool is open from May through October. The interior is a balance of historic charm with modern elegance. Enjoy all of the comforts of a first class hotel with high end mattresses, comfortable linens, plush towels and all of the comforts of your own home. Our kitchen is fully stocked with accessories (pots, pans, knives, etc), oils, spices and everything you'd expect in a chef's kitchen.

In the fall, winter and spring, this home caters to girls weekends, friends getaways and families who seek a unique harbor country experience with convenient access to wineries, breweries and distilleries. Southwest Michigan has something to discover year round and some favor the off season for more low key escapes. Regardless of the reason for your visit, Smith Farmhouse is the ideal escape.

In the era of e-learning and work from (vacation) home, we provide the highest speed WiFi available. We have additional access points throughout the property so you can enjoy connectivity on all floors , front porch and pool deck!

Guests have access to the entire house, only exception being Owner’s closets and supply storage.

Our co-host Andy is available 24/7 on an as-needed basis to answer any questions and to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Dogs permitted, maximum of 2 and $100 pet fee applies to each dog. No other pets are permitted.

Staying Rules
Quiet hours from 11:00PM - 7:00AM.
We do not allow bachelor/bachelorette parties.
Primary renter must be at least 30 years old
